Survivor 2004
In 2004,
a Forest Education Initiative funded project called 'Survivor' was devised by
East Ayrshire Woodlands
and local Green woodworker Geoff Forrest.
The
project took place at Glen Afton Woods near New Cumnock and involved coppicing
of
Hazel from within the woodland, which were then used to form shelters to provide
somewhere for the group to use
for an overnight stay.
The project, initially a one-off, was reintroduced as an annual event from 2007.
