One of our best loved garden birds, the robin can also be extremely aggressive in its defence of its territory
against other robins. Its distinctive and beautiful song can seem uplifting in the warm light of an early spring day,
yet quite mournful and melancholy in the cold mists of winter.

The robin is known as the gardeners friend, often following to pick out the tasty morsels that are found in the soil
after being dug over. They can also become quite trusting and tame after a while, feeding off the hand for fruit or
mealworms especially.
