Status: Resident all year round, some summer migrants also increase the numbers

Size: 16 cm (6.5")
Habitat: Wetland habitat with tall vegetation - reeds, reedmace. Arable crops. Young woodland & scrub near water.
Food: Seeds and invertebrates Breeding: About 185 000 breeding territories
Call Note: Single high pitched notes, often followed by a 'triluck' - a double syllable note.
