Status: Resident all year round             Scots Names: Brook Ouzel, Water Bobbie, Pyot, Water Piet, Water Blackbird
Size: 18cm (7")
Habitat: Mainly fast flowing rivers
UK Population: Up to ~20,000 breeding pairs
Breeding: 4-5 white eggs, incubated for about 16 days
Food: Insect Larvae, freshwater shrimps
Call Note: "zit zit zit" often in flight. Song is very varied and musical, often from a rock perch.
