Community Woodlands

We support a number of local community groups in the improvement of their local woodland. From creating safe paths and new accesses to production and installation of sculpture
to create a sense of local identity

Are you interested in improving your local community woodland?
We can provide advice, training and support to help local communities to improve their local woodland for biodiversity, recreation and access.

Do you use your local East Ayrshire Woodlands Site for craft activities or to harvest natural produce? Let us know.

Community Talks & Walks

East Ayrshire Woodlands can provide illustrated talks on a variety of conservation and woodland subjects to
community groups and other groups. These can also take place in our woodlands, as well as in a centre
or hall. (some recent talks highlighted below)

We are also happy to lead community groups and other groups around one of our woodland sites, if there
is a particular subject you would like for an organised walk. Example walks could be;

Woodland management
Tree identification & folklore
Introduction to woodland birdsong

There would be a small charge per head or group for a nature walk and we would normally require a minimum of 6 people.
