Status: Resident all year round
Scots Names:
Black cap, Coal head, Coaly hood, Hooden
Size: 11.5cm (4.5")
Habitat: Parks, gardens, all types of woodland, churchyards and hedgerows.
Food: Insects, conifer seeds, readily visits bird tables and seed feeders.
Breeding: Over 600 000 Breeding pairs
Call Note: Pee-chew, soft and high pitched, song more like 'sweetcher' as opposed to great tit
'teacher' with 'rounded ends'.
