Status: Resident all year round             Scots Names: Blackie, Garden Ouzel. Skitterie Mavie
Size: 24 - 25cm (10")
Habitat: Parks, gardens, all types of woodland, churchyards and hedgerows.
UK Population: 4,000 000 +
Breeding: 3-5 eggs, incubation between 10 & 19 days, often with 2 or 3 clutches
Food: Insects & earthworms mainly, windfall apples & cotoneaster berries in the autumn / winter. Readily visits bird tables
Call Note: 'Chook' type call or loud metallic ticking
Status: GREEN
